Eyelash Extensions by Veronica: Questions & Answers

 

Magic Touch Beauty Salon now offers eyelash extensions. If you’ve never used extensions before, you might have a few questions. Our stylist, Veronica, is here to answer them.

 

Q: What are eyelash extensions?

A: They are single lashes glued, with an FDA approved adhesive, on top of your own individual eyelashes. Eyelash extensions add length and volume to your existing lashes.

 

Q: How long is the application process?

A: It will take about 2-3 hours since each lash has to be glued individually. Fortunately, the process is entirely painless. It’s so painless, you could nap while getting your lashes done! Really, we don’t mind at all.

 

Q: Can I wear mascara?

A: Absolutely. But, because extensions pump up the volume, you probably won’t need it.

If you do wear mascara, avoid water proof mascaras and clean your lashes with only soap and water. Makeup remover and oils can weaken the eyelash adhesive, causing premature breakage.

 

Q: How long will my extensions last?

A: They will last as long as the life cycle of your natural lash, which is 30-90 days. During this time, you’ll also need refills every 2-3 weeks.

 

Q: Is there anything else I should know?

A: Within the first 24 hours after application, you’ll need to keep your eyelashes away from water. The adhesive needs to completely bond. You’ll also want to make sure you don’t sleep directly on the lashes during this 24-hour period.

Finally, for the next 48 hours, you’ll also need to avoid steam rooms, chlorinated pools and hot showers. For the dramatic effect, trust me, it’s worth it.
